Buy Jack Goffin cockatoo

Jack is a 10-month-old male Goffin Cockatoo offered by Higgins Grey Parrots. His current listing gives you a starting point for choosing a young cockatoo, but a good match depends on the bird’s individual habits and your daily schedule. Ask to see Jack interacting, eating, and exploring before deciding.

Goffin Cockatoo: individual details

Jack is listed as DNA sexed, hand fed, weaned, hand raised, tamed, and vaccinated. Request the relevant records and confirm his present feeding routine. Ask how he responds to new people and which handling cues are used so your household can offer a consistent transition.

Preparing your home

Discuss Jack’s existing play routine and favourite enrichment with us. Ask what he can use safely without direct supervision and how often his toys are changed. A recent video can help you assess his reactions to unfamiliar objects; introduce new equipment gradually and check it for loose or damaged parts.

Plan predictable attention, safe chewing materials, foraging opportunities, and supervised activity. Cockatoos can be loud and need substantial daily engagement. Review VCA’s cockatoo care guidance when assessing your household’s suitability.

Feeding and daily routine

Discuss a balanced diet with an avian veterinarian; seeds alone are inadequate. Provide fresh water and clean bowls daily. Read VCA’s cockatoo feeding guide and our parrot cage and food checklist.

Questions before choosing this bird

Does being hand raised mean Jack will immediately accept everyone?
No. Hand raising is part of his history, while comfort with an unfamiliar person develops individually. Ask about Jack’s current handling experience and allow time for introductions.

Can I see recent photos and records?
Ask for dated images or a live video and the available identification and care records for this individual.
