Buy Flora Black palm cockatoo

Flora is a 4-year-old female Black Palm Cockatoo at Higgins Grey Parrots. Her charcoal feathers, dramatic crest, prominent beak, and red cheek patches make her visually striking. Choosing Flora also means considering the practical requirements of a large bird and whether your home can accommodate her individual routine.

Black Palm Cockatoo: individual details

Flora is listed as DNA sexed, hand fed, weaned, hand raised, tamed, and vaccinated. Ask to review her sexing documentation and vaccination record. Discuss her previous enclosure, handling preferences, favourite activities, and current foods before planning a move.

Preparing your home

For Flora, discuss enclosure strength, secure locks, perch suitability, and room for comfortable movement with the seller and your avian veterinarian. Ask for the dimensions of her current setup and a recent video showing how she uses it. Decide where supervised activity will take place and how you will protect household furnishings.

Plan predictable attention, safe chewing materials, foraging opportunities, and supervised activity. Cockatoos can be loud and need substantial daily engagement. Review VCA’s cockatoo care guidance when assessing your household’s suitability.

Feeding and daily routine

Discuss a balanced diet with an avian veterinarian; seeds alone are inadequate. Provide fresh water and clean bowls daily. Read VCA’s cockatoo feeding guide and our parrot cage and food checklist.
